Missions
A junior postodoctoral position is opened (9 months) in the team "Maintenance of genome integrity during DNA replication" ; Institut de Génétique Humaine of Montpellier (https://www.igh.cnrs.fr/fr/recherche/departements/bases-moleculaires-de-pathologies-humaines/maintien-de-lintegrite-du-genome-au-cours-de-la-replication). The project aims to identify how the S phase checkpoint limits transcription-replication conflicts genome-wide approaches in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Activités
The selected postdoctoral researcher will:
- use quantitative genome-wide approaches to determine the position and amount of RNA polymerases by ChIP-seq.
- use genome-wide approaches to determine replication forks progression at different moment during S phase.
- Develop and use appropriate bio-informatic pipelines to analyse the obtained sequencing data.
- Generate graphical representation of the main resutls and present them in meetings.
Compétences
We are seeking for a highly motivated and autonomous junior postdoctoral researcher. Applicants must have a PhD in the field of genetics and demonstrate a strong expertise in yeast genetics, the use of genome-wide approaches to analyse both transcription and replication. Applicants needs to be able to perform biological experiments (wet lab) and to analyse sequencing data on their own (bioinformatics).
Contexte de travail
Selected applicant will work in the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH, CNRS, UMR9002) in Montpellier - France. Around 250 staff and students researchers work at the IGH in 24 groups. Main research areas include DNA replication and genome integrity and dynamics, developmental genetics and human pathalogies.
The successful candidate will join the 'Maintaining Genome Integrity during Replication' team led by Philippe Pasero, which has around 18 members. More specifically, they will work on the 'coordination of replication and transcription' project.
Contraintes et risques
Biological and chemical risks associated to wet lab experimentation.
Proper training and equipement (gloves, glasses, labcoat, etc).
