The aim of the project is to study at the molecular level the functional interaction between the transcription and replication machineries at the level of DNA / RNA structures (R-loops). The study will focus on the role of the Ddx19 RNA helicase, which we have recently shown to be required for R-loop resolution (Hodroj et al., EMBO J. 2017), in this process. The mission of the candidate will be to study the molecular interactions of Ddx19 with the R loops and chromatin and to study the subcellular localization of Ddx19 after DNA damage- and/or oncogenes-induced replicative stress.


Main tasks
-Cloning and amplification of DNA by PCR
-Protein and chromatin immunoprecipitation from cell lysates
-Expression and purification of recombinant proteins
-Tests of enzymatic activity in vitro

Secondary tasks:
Trainee supervision (master level)


A very good experience in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology is required.
-Motivation and passion for science.
-At least one publication of good level (IF> =8) as the first author resulting from the work of thesis.
