Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will investigate the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms that control the transcriptional repression of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) cccDNA. The project will combine approaches from molecular biology, virology, epigenetics and single-molecule analyses to identify the mechanisms controlling viral transcription.
Activity
To lead research projects in virology and epigenetics. To carry out experiments in molecular biology and cell biology. To use genomics and chromatin analysis approaches. To analyse and interpret experimental data. To present findings at scientific meetings and conferences.
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate must be highly motivated, possess excellent technical skills in virology, molecular biology, gene expression regulation and cell culture, as well as good communication skills and an excellent command of English.
Your Work Environment
The work will be carried out within the Molecular Virology team at the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH). The IGH is a leading institute for life sciences research and is situated in the city of Montpellier, in the south of France. It offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities within a first-class international environment. The IGH is situated on the Arnaud de Villeneuve campus, which is part of the 'Objectif Employeur Pro-Vélo' programme.
