Job Description
Missions
An 18-month postdoctoral position is available in the "Genome Integrity during DNA Replication" research team at the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH, CNRS – University of Montpellier, France).
The project aims to characterize the three-dimensional organization of the genome during DNA replication in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The successful candidate will use high-throughput genomic approaches, including ChIP-seq and Hi-C, to investigate the interplay between DNA replication and genome architecture.
Activity
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Implement quantitative genomics approaches, including ChIP-seq and Hi-C, to investigate genome organization during DNA replication.
Perform advanced molecular biology experiments, including genetic engineering and cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, preparation of DNA libraries for high-throughput sequencing, and optimization of experimental protocols.
Apply bioinformatics tools for the processing, integration, and interpretation of high-throughput sequencing data, particularly ChIP-seq and Hi-C datasets.
Analyze, interpret, and present research findings through high-quality figures, reports, and scientific presentations.
Ensure the traceability and reproducibility of experimental work by maintaining detailed protocols and effectively communicating experimental data within the research team.
Your Profil
Skills
We are seeking a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral researcher. Applicants must hold a PhD and have a strong background in Saccharomyces cerevisiae genetics, with demonstrated experience in genomic approaches to investigate DNA replication and three-dimensional genome organization, particularly using Hi-C.
In addition to carrying out the experimental work, the successful candidate is expected to possess the bioinformatics skills required to independently process, analyze, and interpret high-throughput sequencing data.
Your Work Environment
The recruited postdoctoral researcher will join the Institute of Human Genetics (IGH, UMR9002, CNRS) in Montpellier, France.
The institute comprises approximately 220 staff members distributed across 21 research teams working on genome dynamics, developmental genetics, and human diseases.
The successful candidate will join the "Genome Integrity during DNA Replication" team, headed by Philippe Pasero, which includes around 18 members. More specifically, they will work on the project "Genome organization during DNA replication" under the supervision of Armelle Lengronne.
Constraints and risks
Biological and chemical risks inherent to laboratory work.
The recruited person will receive appropriate training in health and safety procedures and will be provided with suitable protective equipment (lab coat, gloves, safety goggles, etc.) to mitigate these risks.
Compensation and benefits
