Job Description
Missions
The objective of this research is to investigate the periodic structuring of optomechanical waveguides. The work will involve the development and optimization of optical and mechanical simulation tools for the design of periodic optomechanical waveguides. Numerical results will be combined with simplified physics-based models to identify the optimal geometrical parameters that maximize the coupling efficiency between optical and mechanical modes
Activity
The research activities will include a theoretical investigation of state-of-the-art optomechanical structures to understand their underlying physical principles and limitations. The work will also involve developing simplified physics-based models describing optomechanical coupling. These models will be used to optimize the design of optomechanical waveguides
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate should have strong skills in cleanroom nanofabrication, as well as experience in the design, simulation, and characterization of integrated photonic devices. Proficiency in micro- and nanofabrication techniques, particularly lithography and etching processes, will be highly valued. Knowledge of silicon photonics, integrated optics, and optical characterization techniques will be considered an additional asset. The candidate should also demonstrate independence, scientific rigor, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and international research environment.
Your Work Environment
The research will be carried out within the Silicon Photonics team at the Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (C2N), a joint research unit of CNRS and Université Paris-Saclay. The team conducts cutting-edge research in integrated photonics, particularly in silicon photonics, optomechanics, and the development of innovative photonic devices. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and international scientific environment, with access to state-of-the-art technological facilities, including cleanroom nanofabrication platforms and advanced optical characterization equipment. The research will be conducted in a collaborative setting, involving regular interactions with the team's researchers, engineers, PhD students, and academic partners.
