Job Description
Missions
The engineer (M/F) will contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the PEPR SPIN / SPINMAT project. She/he will be responsible for the design, molecular beam epitaxy, and characterization of III-V/metal hybrid heterostructures for spintronics. She/he will work with researchers from the Materials and Nanoelectronics departments and in close collaboration with engineers from the POEM platform.
Activity
- She/he will develop molecular beam epitaxy growth in collaboration with researchers from the Materials and Nanoelectronics departments.
- She/he will adapt the sample structure to achieve the required performance.
- She/he will define the fabrication protocols and adjust the crystal growth parameters. - She/he will be responsible for implementing characterization methods adapted to the validation of thin-film samples (electrical characterization using Hall and Van der Paw spectroscopy).
- She/he will participate in maintenance and troubleshooting (diagnostics, repairs) for all molecular beam epitaxy equipment.
- She/he will manage the supply of spare parts and products.
- She/he will maintain a technological watch.
Your Profil
Skills
- Experience in molecular beam epitaxy of III-V materials and metals
- Experience in spintronics
- In-depth knowledge of chemistry and physical materials science
- In-depth knowledge of physical thin-film fabrication techniques
- In-depth knowledge of vacuum and ultra-high vacuum techniques
- General knowledge of instrumentation and measurement
- Basic knowledge of physicochemical characterization techniques
- Ability to work in a team
- Cleanroom experience -
- Ability to write technical reports
- Interpersonal and organizational skills
- English: Reading and listening comprehension: B2. Speaking and writing: B2
Your Work Environment
The research engineer will be assigned to the C2N Materials Fabrication Platform (POEM), which is part of the Materials Department. This platform brings together engineers and resources for the fabrication of thin films of semiconductors, oxides, and metals, as well as nanowires and two-dimensional materials. She/he will report to the head of this platform and work closely with the PHYNANO team in the Nanoelectronics Department on the development of heterostructures for quantum transport. Almost all of the work related to this position will be carried out in a cleanroom, the environment where all the growth equipment for the POEM platform is located.
