Job Description
Missions
The candidate will be responsible for the complete development of therapeutic nanocarriers from chemical design through to in vitro biological validation. Conjugate synthesis: This will involve the organic synthesis of new chemical entities (coupling of active ingredients to polymers, lipids, or targeting ligands). Characterization will involve analyzing the resulting products to verify their purity and structure (via NMR, mass spectrometry, HPLC). Formulation Development: This will involve the development of nanoscale delivery systems (liposomes); the control and optimization of critical parameters such as particle size and zeta potential, and peptide binding affinity. Biological Evaluation Biological (in vitro) assays will consist of evaluating the efficacy and safety of the nanoparticles (cytotoxicity tests, cellular uptake by microscopy or flow cytometry, internalization studies) as well as studying the immune response.
Activity
The candidate will perform the chemical synthesis of lipopeptides, which will be incorporated into liposomes. The formulations will be tested on cell cultures to evaluate the immune response to the peptides.
Your Profil
Skills
We are looking for a candidate with expertise in chemical synthesis and nanoparticle formulation. Even a basic understanding of cell biology would be a plus. Synthesis and formulation. Fluency in spoken and written scientific English is required.
Your Work Environment
The project will be carried out with funding from the ANR. The work will take place at the Institut Galien Paris-Saclay (Orsay, Moulon campus, https://www.institut-galien.universite-paris-saclay.fr/), on the new Paris-Saclay University campus, in the new Henri Moissan building, and will benefit from first-rate academic and research infrastructure, while operating in a scientifically rich and stimulating environment. The IGPS is a joint research unit (UMR 8612) of the CNRS and the University of Paris-Saclay that conducts original and innovative research in the fields of micro- and nanotechnologies applied to pharmaceuticals and diagnostics in the healthcare sector. The work will be co-supervised by Professors Hervé Hillaireau and Elias Fattal
