Job Description

Missions

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the design and synthesis of organic and inorganic nanomaterials, their physicochemical characterisation, and the investigation of their interactions with cells, with a view to developing these materials for biomedical research applications.

Activity

Design and implement the chemical synthesis and functionalisation of organic and inorganic nanomaterials for biomedical applications.
Optimise preparation and formulation processes to obtain nanomaterials with physicochemical properties tailored to their intended applications.
Perform physicochemical characterisation and assess material stability, functional properties, and molecular delivery capabilities.
Develop and conduct cell-based studies, focusing in particular on biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, nanomaterial internalisation, and intracellular trafficking.
Analyse and interpret experimental results, ensure appropriate data traceability, and contribute to the dissemination of findings through scientific reports, publications, and presentations.
Collaborate with the chemistry, characterisation, and biology teams involved in the project.

Your Profil

Skills

A PhD in Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, or a related discipline is required. Experience in organic synthesis, nanomaterial functionalisation, or the development of molecular delivery systems will be considered a significant advantage. Experience in cell biology would be desirable but is not essential for candidates with strong expertise in chemistry and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary research environment.

Your Work Environment

The project lies at the interface of synthetic chemistry, materials chemistry, and biology, with the aim of developing nanoscale platforms whose properties are tailored for the targeted delivery of bioactive molecules and the exploration of novel therapeutic approaches. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with the teams involved in the project, contributing to formulation optimisation, the analysis and interpretation of experimental results, and the scientific dissemination of the findings.

Constraints and risks

The position involves handling chemical reagents, organic solvents, and organic and inorganic nanomaterials, in accordance with applicable safety procedures and risk prevention regulations. Experimental activities may also include the handling of cell cultures and biological reagents, in compliance with the relevant protocols and safety requirements.
