Job Description

Missions

The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in a multidisciplinary research project aimed at developing the synthesis of polyazamacrocyclic compounds as ligands for non-canonical nucleic acid structures (including DNA three-way junctions) with anticancer applications, and at functionalizing them for applications in chemical biology.

Activity

- Organic synthesis and molecular characterization.
- Participation in chemical biology experiments (in collaboration with a partner team).

Your Profil

Skills

- Strong experience in organic chemistry, preferably in the chemistry of macrocyclic compounds and/or heterobifunctional molecules.
- Proficiency in molecular characterization techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC).
- Basic knowledge of nucleic acid biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or chemical biology.
- Organizational and adaptability skills.
- Excellent command of English (written and oral comprehension, protocol and article writing).
- Monitoring the evolution of hygiene and safety regulations and ensuring their application in coordination with the Prevention Assistant.

Your Work Environment

The proposed position is part of a multidisciplinary project funded by AVIESAN and dedicated to the development, optimization, and functionalization of ligands targeting DNA three-way junctions for cancer treatment, as well as the development of chemical tools to study their mechanisms of action in cellulo. This project is conducted in collaboration with teams from the Institut de Pharmacologie et de Biologie Structurale (Toulouse) and Université Bourgogne Europe (Dijon).

The host team, "New Synthetic Methods for the Chemistry-Biology Interface," is part of the CNRS UMR8601 unit "Laboratoire de Chimie et Biochimie Pharmacologiques et Toxicologiques," located at Université Paris Cité (Paris 6th arrondissement). The team's research spans a broad range of topics in synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology, all grounded in molecular innovation. Our work involves exploring new chemical spaces, as well as developing synthetic tools or analytical methods to study and/or interfere with biological regulatory mechanisms.

Constraints and risks

The position involves exposure to chemical and biological risks, which will be managed in accordance with national regulations and the laboratory's internal rules.
