Job Description
Missions
The post-doc researcher will be assigned the following tasks:
- consolidating methods and developing tools for the QGIS software to determine the bankfull geometry parameters of rivers using LiDAR data from various sources (e.g. IGN HD LiDAR and drones);
- continuing the work begun at the LGP on calculating bankfull width of entire streams and analysing the results in relation to local constraints.

Your Profil
Skills
- Python programming skills are essential.
- A PhD in geomatics or geographical information sciences with applications in the environmental sector is required.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral position on offer is part of the Carhyce programme, which is being carried out at the Laboratoire de Géographie Physique in collaboration with the OFB. This partnership has already resulted in the development of indicators for assessing the hydromorphology of French rivers and the creation of an interface to make the resulting data accessible. More recently, methods for characterising riverbed geometry using LiDAR data were developed as part of a PhD project. The post-doc researcher's work will build on these developments, aiming to consolidate the methods and extend their application.
The postdoctoral researcher will be based at the LGP and will have access to all necessary resources.
