Job Description

Missions

Ensure the design, commissioning, and ongoing development of complex and specialized experimental systems as part of a pre-maturation project.

Activity

Analyze scientific needs and propose appropriate measurement, characterization, or observation techniques and methods suited to the specific context of the pre-maturation project.
Negotiate the functional specifications and draft the technical specifications.
Organize and monitor the implementation process; validate and qualify the system or method at its various stages.
Manage all human, technical, and financial resources allocated to the experiments.
Establish and structure a technology watch (technology scouting / monitoring).
Present, disseminate, and promote the outcomes and achievements.
Validate the structure of consortia in the case of international projects.

Your Profil

Skills

Engineering techniques and sciences (optics, control systems, microcomputing, mechanics) (advanced knowledge)
Field-specific techniques in gaussian and non-gaussian quantum information (advanced knowledge)
General physics and physics related to the experimental field: optics, quantum information, error correction (general knowledge)
Professional environment and networks (general knowledge)
Written and oral presentation techniques
English language: B1 to B2 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – CEFR)
Project management
Use of domain-specific software tools
Team supervision / leadership
Meeting facilitation
Negotiation skills
Application of public procurement regulations
Technology watch / monitoring
Conceptual thinking ability
Critical thinking
Strong organizational skills

Your Work Environment

35 hours per week at the Kastler Brossel Laboratory in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
