Job Description
Missions
The laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique is looking for a post-doc researcher to study the macrophysical and microphysical parameters that control the radiative properties of tropical convective clouds, and their link to the mesoscale organisation of convection
Activity
- To analyze satellite and in-situ observations of tropical clouds embedded in the mesoscale organisation of tropical convection
- To conceptualize the link between cloud properties, convective organization and radiation using theory and observations
- To constrain the radiative impact of convective organisation with physical insight and observations
Your Profil
Skills
- PhD in atmospheric physics with a speciality in cloud, radiative and convective processes
- Some experience with conceptual models, convective theories and the analysis of observations
- Good knowledge of the state of the art in cloud feedbacks and cloud-climate interactions
- Skills in the writing of scientific articles and in oral presentations in English
Your Work Environment
The work will be based at LMD in Jussieu, in the EMC3 team (Etude et Modélisation du climat et du changement climatique). It will take place as part of the MAESTRO ERC project. It will involve collaborations with other partners involved in the MAESTRO/ORCESTRA field campaign and the MAESTRO team.
