Missions
Creation of an atlas of carbon stocks in French ecosystems and compilation of projections of changes in carbon stocks according to different scenarios
Activités
- Define and implement, in close collaboration with Pierre Barré, a plan to assess carbon stocks (soil, sediment, and vegetation) in ecosystems in mainland France - Contribute on an ad hoc basis to the work of various teams assessing carbon stocks - Provide support for mapping work - Establish a comparative overview of C stabilization in the soils and sediments of different ecosystems - Define and implement the plan for promoting the results - Organize and lead expert meetings. - Participate in the dissemination of results - Define, plan, and assist in the implementation of the project to assess carbon stocks in different ecosystems by 2050

Required knowledge: - Degree: PhD, Engineering - Continental biogeochemistry - Environment and professional networks - Organization and functioning of higher education and public research - Language: English, French Technical skills: - Skills in measuring carbon stocks and flows - Advanced data processing skills - Ability to use an R or Python environment - Project management - Ability to work independently, in a team, and within a network Behavioral skills: - Rigorous and reliable - Proactive and able to generate ideas - Analytical and synthesis skills - Interpersonal and writing skills
Contexte de travail
The position is part of the Surface and Reservoirs team at the Geology Laboratory. The successful candidate will work closely with Pierre Barré, Bertrand Guenet, and Samuel Abiven. They will also be in frequent contact with the research teams involved and stakeholders interested in the project.
