Job Description
Missions
The recruited researcher will conduct research in the field of nonlinear dispersive partial differential equations.
More specifically, they will work on the study of dark solitons for the logarithmic Gross–Pitaevskii equation.
This research, led by Guillaume Ferriere, will be carried out within the framework of the CPER WaveTech@HdF project.
Activity
- Research in theoretical (and potentially numerical) analysis of partial differential equations
- Collaboration with Guillaume Ferriere, as well as with other members of the research team Analyse Numérique et EDP of the Paul Painlevé laboratory
- Participation in team seminars and scientific conferences
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate must hold a PhD degree in the field of analysis (theoretical and/or numerical) of PDEs and/or calculus of variations, and must not have 2 years or more of postdoctoral experience.
All applications will be carefully considered.
Although not mandatory, applications will be particularly valued if the candidate has previous experience in one or more of the following areas (or related topics):
- Dispersive equations (especially NLS-type or Gross–Pitaevskii equations)
- Solitary (or traveling) waves
- Functional minimization
- Numerical discretization methods for PDEs
- Numerical simulations of PDEs
The application should include:
- A detailed CV describing the candidate's academic and professional background (including Master's, PhD, and, if applicable, postdoctoral experiences), as well as a list of publications
- A description of their research experience and project
- The names and contact details of two referees who can provide recommendation letters
Your Work Environment
The recruited person will join the Analyse Numérique et Equations aux Dérivées Partielles (ANEDP) team of the Laboratoire Paul Painlevé (LPP, UMR 8524) of the University of Lille and CNRS, and may also join the project-team Paradyse of the Inria center of the University of Lille.
The position is funded by the CPER WaveTech@HdF project.
