Job Description

Missions

• The candidate will deposit thin films on various substrates by sputtering.
• They will develop an AFM method to characterize the mechanical properties at the surface of different materials used in batteries.
• They will undergo training on the new nanoindentation instrument that the laboratory is currently installing and will develop protocols to characterize the various mechanical properties of battery materials.
• They will carry out thin-film deposition at IEMN, chemical and structural characterizations at UCCS, and electrochemical validation of the electrodes at IEMN.
• They will benefit from the technological environment of IEMN's two platforms (CMNF and PCMP) as well as that of the Chevreul Institute at the University of Lille.
• They will be responsible for writing technical reports and presenting results during the project's technical meetings.

Activity

• Deposition of thin films by sputtering on various substrates
• Development of nanoindentation protocols
• Mechanical characterization by AFM and nanoindentation inside the glovebox
• Structural characterization by XRD
• Morphological characterization by SEM and AFM
• Electrical characterization
• Writing of technical reports and presentation of results

Your Profil

Skills

The recruited candidate will hold the level of a research engineer. They must have a PhD (BAC+8). Significant professional experience of several years in the field of thin films and solid-state batteries, together with training in the mechanical properties of materials, would be an advantage.

Your Work Environment
