The nanomechanical oscillator is attractive for signal detection and processing applications. The NEMS structure allows mechanical movement to be coupled with electrical signals, including DC and RF. The mission of this work is to develop a new NEMS structure to improve its sensitivity and mating strength with other systems.
The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the design, manufacture and simple, high-frequency characterization of a new nanomechanical oscillator. In particular, the candidate will be responsible for optimizing the Micro/Nano-manufacturing process of Si3N4-MEMS and the basic RF/hyperfrequency configuration. He or she will be strongly supported by our cleanroom engineers and characterization center at the IEMN.
• You have recently obtained a PhD in physics or electrical engineering and have research experience in one of the following areas: MEMS /NEMS, microelectronics device, RF engineering. You have scientific publications.
• You are eager to learn and you have one or more experiments in the standard micro/nano-manufacturing in the standard clean room. You have knowledge in the following areas (at least one or more): simulation (mechanical properties or RF, for example: Comsol, CST or HFSS), RF/DC measurement, programming skills (Python or Matlab or R) and analytical calculations.

The research activities of this project will be carried out at the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN). The laboratory is in the metropolitan area of Lille, an hour's train ride from London, Brussels and Paris and 50 minutes by TGV from Paris CDG International Airport. IEMN has been interested in the exploration of nanotechnology and micro/nanoelectronics for 20 years. It has a clean room at the highest level in Europe, which is equipped with facilities for the manufacture of nanomaterials, allowing to transfer designs to real devices. In addition, the IEMN also offers an RF/MEMS platform provides equipment for the characterization of both optical and electrical devices. This young researcher position concerns the NAM6 group, which is composed of 5 CNRS researchers and has extensive experience in nanofabrication and MEMS characterization.
