Job Description
Missions
The missions are part of the DEPAVE project (“De-artificialization of Parking Lots through Spontaneous Vegetation”), winner of the CPER ECRIN 2025 call of proposal. The DEPAVE project is an urban ecology project involving natural monitoring, environmental analyses, and a number of experimental approaches. The environmental analyses will focus on the composition of organic (e.g., PAHs) and inorganic (e.g., trace metal elements) in both the asphalt itself and the underlying subsoil, based on a sample of 10 to 15 sites in the Hauts-de-France region. The successful candidate will be responsible for laboratory chemical analyses and their scientific monitoring.
Activity
The main activities will be as follows: collecting samples in the field, processing samples, analyzing inorganic elements using spectrometry and organic elements using chromatography, as well as scientific monitoring of these analyses, supervising students, and promoting the data through conferences and publications.
Your Profil
Skills
Skills in analytical chemistry, data analysis, and scientific writing. Initial training in life sciences is also expected. The successful candidate will receive support and training at the start of the contract, but will be expected to work independently when conducting chemical analyses.
Your Work Environment
The work will be carried out at the University of Lille, at the LASIRE laboratory, either in the C8 building or in the Chevreul Institute building. Samples will be collected from former parking lots located in the Hauts-de-France region. A doctoral student in ecology is currently working on this topic.
