Section(s) CN : 23 - Biologie intégrative des organismes photosynthétiques et des microorganismes associés
Missions
The person recruited will develop experimental and bioinformatics analyses in functional genomics. He/she will apply molecular genetic, epigenomic and confocal microscopy approaches, as well as their complete bioinformatics analyses. She/he will also propose and develop original strategies for targeted bioinformatics analyses, adapted to the biological questions posed by the ChromatinPhotoDynamics project coordinated by Fredy Barneche and funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR).
Activités
Its experimental and bioinformatics analyses will focus on characterizing nuclear (immunolocalization of chromatin proteins and genomic regions), genomic (genomic DNA sequencing), epigenomic (ChIP-seq) and transcriptomic (RNA-seq) profiles obtained using NGS and ONT approaches on the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. The functional integration of these datasets will aim to gain a better understanding of the evolution of plant genomes and epigenomes, and the mechanisms by which they adapt to environmental change. The person recruited will also monitor the scientific literature on his/her subject of study and on the experimental and bcomputational methods needed to develop the project. He/she will actively participate in the writing of scientific publications and in team meetings.
Compétences
The candidate must have :
- a demonstrated expertise in experimental molecular genetics and bioinformatics
- mastery of bash and statistical analysis on R
- a good understanding of the methods and constraints of experimental biology
- rigorous and organized in order to carry out several activities in parallel
- flexible in the face of difficulties and a spirit of initiative to identify technical solutions
- an aptitude for collegial work and a willingness to work in a team environment.

- a capacity for flexibility in the face of difficulties and initiative to identify technical solutions
- demonstrate an aptitude for collegial work and team spirit to share knowledge and, reciprocally, integrate the advice of other team members
- keep track online of all analyses and codes used for the host laboratory
- be prepared for discussions, scientific presentations, and the writing of articles in English
Recruitment level : PhD
Contexte de travail
The Institut Biologie Paris Seine (IBPS) is a multidisciplinary research center with an international vocation, located on Sorbonne University's Jussieu campus, close to numerous means of transport (RER, metro, bus). The host team comprises 11 members of the Dev2A (Development Adaptation Aging) laboratory, a CNRS/Inserm/Sorbonne joint research unit with 230 staff. The IBPS is equipped with a bioinformatics service platform (Inforbio), and the Sorbonne University campus is equipped with the MeSU technology platform, providing a supercomputer and storage space. The host team's work focuses on the mechanisms by which the environment can influence genome evolution, and on cellular chromatin dynamics as an adaptive mechanism. The person recruited will work under the supervision of Fredy Barneche (CNRS Research Director) for the design and interpretation of analyses. He/she will also interact with Clara Bourbousse (Chargé de Recherche CNRS), team co-leader, and all other team members for experimental aspects, in particular a bioinformatics engineer. He/she will participate in laboratory meetings and present results in English.
