We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced post-doc interested in working on the basic mechanisms of translational control in bacteria.


The person to be recruited will study the translational control of gene expression in the Escherichia coli model bacterium, focusing on the mRNA elements involved in this process. This analysis will be performed on a few selected genes, as well as on the transcriptome scale using high-throughput approaches.


The person to be recruited should hold a PhD degree in biology and have more than 3 years experience after the PhD. A solid expertise is expected in bacteriology, molecular biology and RNA biochemistry. Previous experience in ribosome biology and/or bioinformatic analysis of RNAseq data will be considered favorably. Good communication in English is necessary.

Work Context

The person to be recruited will work under the direction of Maude Guillier and will join the group « RNA control of gene expression » within the CNRS unit UMR8261. He/she will interact with all members of the group (4 permanent and 4 non-permanent persons). This team is part of the CNRS unit « Microbial Gene Expression » of the « Institut de Biologie Physico-Chimique », located in the center of Paris.
