We are hiring a post-doctoral researcher (CNRS position) for 2 years, starting on April 1st 2020. The candidate will be working at the Department of Economics of Sciences Po (UMR 8259) located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. He/She will work mainly on a project financed by an ERC Starting Grant on the topic of “Motivated Reading of Evidence” (ERC MOREV). The Principal Investigator of this project is Ms. Jeanne Hagenbach, Researcher at CNRS and Professor of Economics at Sciences Po. The topic of research is more broadly defined as Behavioral Economics with a particular focus on Motivated Beliefs, Motivated Perception and Selective Memory.
The post-doctoral researcher is expected to participate in the scientific activities of the ERC MOREV team. In particular, the post-doctoral researcher is expected to develop theoretical models and run experiments to better understand why individuals distort their reading of information in some economic and strategic contexts, and how individual manage to do so.
The post-doctoral researcher is also expected to participate actively in the scientific life of the Department of Economics of Sciences Po Paris.
There is no teaching duty attached to the post-doctoral position.
We expect the M/F candidate to have completed a PhD either in Economics or in Psychology. We also would like the candidate to be have good game-theoretical skills, a good knowledge of behavioral economics and previous experience in the running and analyzing of lab experiments. The candidate should be used to present his/her work at international conferences.
The post-doctoral researcher will be affiliated at the Department of Economics of Sciences Po Paris. This department is made up of about 30 researchers covering all fields of economics. The Department is particularly strong in applied economics and has the objective to set up an experimental lab soon. For more information: http://econ.sciences-po.fr/
