Job Description
Missions
Postdoctoral position available in Electrochemistry within the framework of a collaborative project between the laboratories (LISE) and (LCPB) both located in Paris. This project is financially supported by iDream initiative. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on the electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into value-added products under realistic conditions, particularly those found in incinerator flue gas. This will be done in collaboration with the project leaders: Carlos Sanchez-Sanchez and Maria Gomez-Mingot. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate for studying interfacial phenomena during electrocatalytic reactions by local electrochemical techniques such as scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM).
Activity
_ Experimental work using electrochemical local techniques with special interest in SECM for studying the local pH within the diffusion layer of electrocatalysts.
_ Experimental work using different electrochemical cells for CO2 pulsed potential electrolysis.
_ Correlate SECM-based local pH results with CO2 electrolysis selectivity and electrocatalyst stability.
_ To write scientific articles based on the results obtained.
Your Profil
Skills
_ The candidate must have a doctorate or equivalent.
_ The candidate must have some experience and skills in electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, scanning local probes (SECM) and surface modification.
_ A high level of spoken and written English is required.
Your Work Environment
This work is to be mainly conducted at LISE, a joint laboratory of CNRS and Sorbonne Université (SU) with a very international staff. Located in downtown Paris, the LISE is well connected by Subway, Bus and Suburban train (RER).
A detailed description of the activities of the laboratory can be found on the website
https://lise-www.sorbonne-universite.fr
The candidate will visit the LCPB at College de France during specific periods during the project for taking advantage of their expertise.
Constraints and risks
The candidate will receive a training course on laboratory safety before arriving to the laboratory.
