Job Description

Missions

The person recruited will do his/her PhD in the interdisciplinary Nanobio team, which is one of the world leaders in the development of new approaches in super-resolved microscopy. In particular, the team is developing various innovative approaches (Nature Photoniques 2021 and 2015, Nature Communications 2021 and 2019) by combining the creation of new original optical instruments with concrete biological applications. In particula this project will be developed witihin the framework of the ERC Timenanolive and the ANR project in collaboration with Insitut Langevin, to montior live cells at the nanoscale.During the PhD, the aim will be to develop a new implementation enabling the localisation of single molecules using a temporal approach thanks to an original shaping of the illumination field. This paradigm shift in the process of localizing single molecules will enable us to gain a factor of 3 in spatial resolution, as well as being able to observe samples at greater depth and with reduced acquisition time. The introduction of this new device, which encodes the position of molecules in time, also opens up the possibility of encoding other properties on a nanometric scale, such as the fluorescence lifetime, which opens up applications in biology and nanomaterials

Activity

The person will contribute to different aspects:
- conception, mplementation and optimization of the optical experimental device
- programming
- characterization on different samples
- sample preparation
- writing of articles
- participation in conferences
