Missions
The person recruited will be part of the NANOBIO team and will participate in the development of new approaches in super-resolution microscopy, combining optical development and biological applications. This position will involve developing a microscope that can be used to observe cells at different scales beyond the diffraction limit, either by applying structured excitation (SIM) in order to gain a factor of 2 in resolution, or by combining structured excitation with the localisation of single molecules (ModLoc technique patented by the team), in an original configuration. The transition from one approach to the other will be made by applying deep learning approaches, developed in collaboration with R. Henriques' team, following training of the network depending on the state of development and expression of the cell lines. Within this European consortium, biological applications will be carried out in collaboration with the Institut Curie, and part of the instrumental/software developments will be carried out with Abbelight.
The position may be extended for a further 12 months.
Activités
The person will contribute to various aspects :
- setting up the optical elements for this new instrumental device
- testing and validation of the new experimental set-up
- pilot/simulation programming
- characterisation of various samples
- writing articles
- taking part in conferences
Compétences
- optics
- microscopy
- knowledge of single-molecule imaging (acquisition and processing)
- knowledge of photophysics
- knowledge of cell culture
- python programming
Contexte de travail
This work will be carried out within ISMO (Unité Mixte CNRS / Université Paris-Saclay) as part of a European EIC PAthfinder project involving 4 other laboratories and one company (Abbelight). The laboratory has an on-site culture room and various microscopes for single molecule localization microscopy, SIM and FLIM.
