This natural molecule does not induce dependence while being more powerful than morphine derivatives. Encapsulation and release in biological media will be monitored by HPLC. In addition, a study on cell lines/tissues is envisaged to follow the diffusion and the toxicity of the drug carrier and of the labeled active molecules. The candidate will join the interdisciplinary NanoBio team comprising researchers of different nationalities. A good level of English is necessary.

Activities

Main tasks:
• Formulation of nanoparticles/gels and encapsulation of active molecules
• Dosage of drug molecules by HPLC
• Conventional cell biology techniques (cell culture, fluorescence microscopy) for monitoring the fate of nanoparticles in biological media
Secondary tasks: use and participate in the maintenance of a platform of equipment for the characterization and study of drug carriers of active ingredients.

Skills

• Good mastery of HPLC assays with ELSD detection
• Skills in biology, cell culture, and fluorescence microscopy.
• Rigor, autonomy, dynamism, and good ability to work in a team.
• Reading and understanding protocols and methods from scientific publications
• Ability for protocol optimization.

Work Context

ISMO gathers 159 people (permanent and non-permanent), benefiting from the expertise of around forty ITA / BIASS and access to high-level platforms, particularly in microscopy. ISMO is at the interface of many fields: physics, chemistry, biology, and nanomedicine. ISMO is located in new buildings within the University of Paris Saclay.
NanoBio is an international team that welcomes more than 20 thesis and internship students (bachelor, master, etc.) each year, as well as post-doctoral researchers. Biological applications of research work are the common denominator of the NanoBio team. The applications are mainly in the biomedical field and respond to major societal challenges.

Constraints and risks

Short-distance travel as part of the collaboration with teams on the Saclay plateau

Additional Information

Applications should include a detailed CV and a cover letter summarizing the candidate's interests for the position, as well as contact details for at least one scientist who can provide a recommendation.
