Missions
The recruited person will integrate the Institute of Molecular Sciences of Orsay (UMR CNRS 8214). They will work in the framework of the LISTed project (ANR-19-CE30-0017) dedicated to the study of molecules in the sub-millimeter range in support of current observations of the interstellar medium.
Activités
- optimization of a pulsed supersonic jet set-up coupled to an electric discharge to produce reactive species
- measurements by chirped-pulse spectroscopy in supersonic jet and flow cells
- possible complementary measurements by frequency multiplication chains based spectroscopy
- analysis of experimental results (assignment of transitions, adjustment of spectroscopic parameters)
- writing of articles and presentation of results in conferences
Compétences
- Solid knowledge in molecular physics related to the themes of the project
- Expertise in high resolution spectroscopy (experiments, analysis)
- Fluent English
- Programming skills (Python) appreciated
Contexte de travail
The Institute of Molecular Sciences of Orsay is a multidisciplinary laboratory, a joint CNRS / University Paris-Saclay unit located in Orsay, with about 80 researchers and professors, 40 PhD and postdoctoral students, and 40 research support staff. The person recruited will join the SYSTEMAE (Molecular Systems, Astrophysics, and Environment) team, one of whose research themes is laboratory astrophysics from the microwaves to the VUV.
