Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting ultrafast pump-probe studies on solvated molecules in helium droplets. To achieve this, the candidate will utilize the laser experimental setup available at the ISMO laboratory. Femtosecond dynamics (ranging from tens to hundreds of femtoseconds) can be conducted at ISMO using the laser system developed by the DIRAM team. Additional studies may be carried out by relocating the GOUTTELIUM experiment to local laser facilities (such as ATTOLab). The candidate will also be responsible for preparing the relocation of the experiment to these sites. These experimental campaigns will enable the probing of molecular dynamics on timescales of a few femtoseconds, thus complementing the existing experimental capabilities at ISMO.
Activity
-Synchronization of TPX3CAM detection with high-repetition-rate lasers (1 kHz to 40 kHz)
-Managing the coincident detection of ions and electrons, which will be implemented by our team
-Characterization of pump and probe laser pulses
-Conducting pump-probe experiments using the GOUTTELIUM device and the laser system at ISMO or at host infrastructures
Your Profil
Skills
-Expertise in nonlinear ultrafast optics
-Skills in mechanical design
-Proficiency in experiment/human interaction coding (Pymodaq)
-Expertise in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems
-Skills in charged particle detection
Your Work Environment
ISMO is a leading laboratory in molecular physics and its applications, located at Université Paris-Saclay in Orsay (Essonne). ISMO operates at the intersection of multiple fields, including astrophysics, atmospheric chemistry, biology, and medicine. The DIRAM team specializes in the dynamics of all types of systems, particularly using a time-resolved approach, both experimentally and theoretically. The postdoctoral researcher will work in close collaboration with the GOUTTELIUM project leader.
