Job Description
Missions
The engineer will participate to implementing the modules of latent heat fluxes in the exchange between the snow and the atmosphere in the archival model GLACIO PSM
Activity
1) The person will implement equations isotopic composition change during sublimation and condensation
2) The person will realize case study analysis with reference sites with observations

Your Work Environment
LSCE is a joint research unit (UMR 8212) operated by the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), and the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ). It is located at the Orme des Merisiers site. LSCE is part of the Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace (IPSL), a federation of nine climate and environmental research institutes in the Paris region. LSCE brings together approximately 320 researchers, engineers, and administrative staff, including 150 permanent employees from its three parent institutions and several dozen PhD students.
The successful candidate will work within the GLACIO team (Ice, Climate and Stable Isotopes). The GLACIO team studies climate and the hydrological cycle through the analysis of stable isotopes in water and atmospheric molecules, including nitrogen, oxygen, and argon. Its research aims in particular to understand past Quaternary and present-day climate variability, from tropical to polar regions, in order to better characterise the interactions between climate and the atmospheric water cycle. The team comprises around twenty members.
The position will be funded through the European ERC SAMIR project and will involve close collaboration with Mathieu Casado, CNRS Researcher; Justin Chaillot, CEA Engineer; and the Technical Division of the CNRS National Institute for Earth Sciences and Astronomy (INSU).
