Missions
Relying on the laboratory's expertise in modeling, simulation, and experimentation of structures and materials, as well as artificial intelligence and data science, the objective of the recruited engineer in this research project is to facilitate, in the short term, the exploitation of experimental and numerical databases in mechanics through machine learning based on neural networks such as RNNs or Transformers, particularly for processing time series data.
Activités
- Analysis of databases including results of the type "time series data"
- Implementation of RNN-type neural networks
- Implementation of Transformer-type neural networks
- Validation and comparison with other methods used at LAMIH
Compétences
- Candidates with a Master's degree or engineering degree in computer science or applied mathematics.
- Strong programming skills in Python and machine learning (candidate from a computer science or applied mathematics background).
- Knowledge of one or more deep learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) is desirable.
- Ability to work in a team, curiosity, and adaptability to develop an interdisciplinary project between the computer science and mechanical engineering departments
- Good communication skills, with proficiency in scientific English, both spoken and written.
Contexte de travail
The LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 (Laboratory of Automation, Mechanics, and Industrial and Human Informatics) is a joint research unit between the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (UPHF) and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), specializing in transportation and human mobility.
The work is carried out in collaboration between the Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering departments.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
In view of the unit's specific features, the UPHF imposes the following closures: 4 weeks for the summer closure, 2 weeks at the end of the year, 1 week during the winter vacations, 1 week during the spring vacations. The agent recruited will be required to take leave during these periods.
