Job Description
Missions
The main objective of the position is fundamental research on functional interactions between the gut and the brain in the zebrafish larva. To achieve this objective, the candidate will perform two-photon imaging experiments and analyze the data through the development of code in MATLAB
Activity
• Perform calcium imaging experiments of neural activity in both the gut and the brain in zebrafish larvae.
• Use optogenetic stimulation to stimulate and record activity in the brain and gut.
Perform genetic and mechanical ablations of the brain and gut.
Analyze and interpret data and write scientific articles.
Your Profil
Skills
• Skills and experience in developmental neuroscience and computational neuroscience.
Skills and experience in imaging, microscopy, and labeling with nanoparticles.
• Skills and experience in molecular biology and genetics.
• Programming skills in MATLAB and Python.
• Ability to listen and follow instructions.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to follow appropriate ergonomic practices to prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
• Ability to work independently, be rigorous, and develop collaborations within the team.
• Fluency in French and English.
Your Work Environment
Experimental and theoretical research team at the Institute of Biology of the École Normale Supérieure.
Constraints and risks
