Job Description
Missions
Our group studies a key family of receptors in the nervous system: ionotropic glutamate receptors. We are particularly interested in the structural and functional diversity of this receptor family and its impact on normal and pathological neuronal communication. We have recently turned our attention to the delta family of receptors (GluD receptors), which are atypical members of the glutamate receptor family due to their insensitivity to glutamate and their inability to open their channel. The postdoctoral fellow will be tasked with investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying signal transduction in these receptors. To do so, the candidate will use tools developed in the laboratory to study GluD receptors: (i) electrophysiological tools based on the use of constitutively open GluD mutants, as well as (ii) fluorescence tools that allow real-time tracking of conformational changes in specific regions of the receptor (voltage-clamp fluorometry). The postdoctoral fellow will also perform molecular dynamics simulations to interpret the experimental data from a structural perspective.

- Training in animal experimentation specializing in aquatic animals and/or initial training in experimental surgery is a plus.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral fellow will work in the “Glutamate Receptors and Excitatory Synapses” team at the Institute of Biology of the École Normale Supérieure (IBENS, CNRS UMR 8197, INSERM U1024, ENS-PSL University). This interdisciplinary institute, located within a dense network of laboratories in central Paris (ENS-PSL, Institut Curie, Collège de France, ESPCI Paris-Tech, etc.), benefits from an exceptional research environment. The candidate will work independently in close collaboration with Laetitia Mony, the principal investigator. This research project will be carried out with funding from the ANR.
