Job Description

Missions

The position involves the development of mathematical models of mitochondrial dynamics and electrodiffusion processes in neuronal cells. The successful candidate will design and implement analytical and numerical approaches to describe ionic fluxes, energy production mechanisms, and their coupling with neuronal activity. The research will contribute to a better understanding of subcellular bioenergetic mechanisms and their role in neuronal function. The position also includes the analysis and interpretation of modeling results, as well as the dissemination of research outcomes through scientific publications and presentations at national and international conferences, in close collaboration with the project partners and members of the research team.

Activity

Numerical simulation of complex biophysical systems; mathematical modeling based on partial differential equations (PDEs) and stochastic processes; asymptotic analysis of mathematical models; development and validation of electrodiffusion and mitochondrial dynamics models; and interpretation of modeling results in relation to experimental data.

Your Profil

Skills

Strong background in mathematical modeling and partial differential equations (PDEs); expertise in asymptotic methods; experience in numerical simulation, scientific computing, and high-performance computing (HPC); knowledge of cellular biophysics and neuroscience; strong analytical and theoretical modeling skills.

Your Work Environment

On-site work at the host laboratory; active participation in the scientific activities of the research unit, including group meetings and seminars; regular interactions with national and international collaborators.

Constraints and risks

Ergonomic risks associated with prolonged computer-based work.
