Job Description

Missions

This work is part of the ANR DIWINA project, which aims to develop a digital twin for spintronics—a platform that enables the simulation and characterization of a magnetic object from its theoretical design through to microscopic analysis. To achieve this, it is necessary to compile, integrate, and calibrate various existing codes used during key stages: micromagnetic simulation, conversion of theoretical data into experimental contrast, and acquisition of experimental images. The work will be carried out in collaboration between SPINTEC and Néel Institute.

Activity

- Participate in the development of simulation code extensions
- Perform and analyze micromagnetic simulations
- Participate in the post-processing of experimental images obtained via microscopy
- Participate in the development of a Python interface to control the simulation codes
- Participate in the drafting of a user manual
- Write reports, presentations, and documentation to document the work performed
- Actively participate in work meetings
- Help supervise doctoral students and interns

Your Profil

Skills

- Proficiency and experience with micromagnetic simulations
- Proficiency and experience with Python programming
- Proficiency with advanced vector data analysis software (e.g., Paraview)
- Proficiency in condensed matter physics and magnetism
- Proficiency in electron microscopy
- Knowledge of finite element methods

Your Work Environment

Spintronics arises from the interaction between local magnetic moments and the spin of charge carriers. It is currently gaining importance in information and communication technologies, for magnetic sensors, tunnel-junction semiconductor memories (MRAM, which is now entering mass production), and other functions based on similar technology: radiofrequency generation and detection, cryptography, artificial intelligence, etc. As in all technological fields, numerical simulation now plays a crucial role in designing components and optimizing the desired functions. The ultimate goal is the concept of digital twins, where simulations achieve sufficient reliability and speed to be trusted as much as reality and used for the rapid testing and development of devices.
