Job Description

Missions

In practice, the researcher will be primarily responsible for conducting experimental work and must possess solid experience in heterogeneous catalysis and, ideally, mechanochemistry. They will be supported by two research engineers specializing in the thermal and spectroscopic characterization essential for the discovery of new catalysts. The postdoctoral researcher's specific duties will focus on developing a heterogeneous catalysis-assisted mechanosynthesis setup for the green production of urea. They will have access to the laboratory's equipment, the synthesis platform (UPCAT), and the PCA characterization platform at the Chevreul Institute.

Activity

- Implementation of the the mechanochemical system (planetary mill)
- Manipulations in a glovebox to prepare vessels under a controlled atmosphere
- Synthesis of ceramic and metallic materials
- Physicochemical characterization of the catalysts.
- Identification of the products from the mechanocatalytic reaction using an infrared spectrometer and colorimetric tests.

Your Profil

Skills

- Preparation of air-sensitive heterogeneous catalysts
- Analysis of spectroscopic and physicochemical data (XRD, BET, TPR, etc.)
- Oral communication in English
- Writing of scientific reports and articles

Your Work Environment

Our research group possesses all the equipment necessary to carry out the project, which focuses on (i) the development of the mechanochemical process, (ii) the synthesis and characterization of catalysts, and (iii) the analytical work involved in identifying the reaction products.
