Job Description
Missions
The candidate will genetically modify mesenchymal stromal cells to enrich the extracellular vesicles they release with specific messenger RNAs. He/she will characterize the mechanisms governing mRNA targeting to the vesicles and analyze the extracellular vesicles using various methods. He/she will also investigate the capacity of these modified extracellular vesicles to deliver mRNA to recipient cells.
Activity
Molecular modification of mesenchymal stromal cells; Molecular engineering of cells and characterization; Bioproduction of extracellular vesicles; Multimodal characterization of extracellular vesicles
Your Profil
Skills
Interdisciplinary skills, particularly in cell engineering, cell biology, multimodal characterization and molecular modeling.
Your Work Environment
The new multidisciplinary unit NABI (Nanomedicine, Extracellular Biology, Integratome and Health Innovations), located on the Saint Germain Campus of Université Paris Cité (45 rue des Saints Pères, 75006 Paris), was established on January 1, 2025. It brings together around 70 collaborators—including physicists, biologists, pharmacists, engineers, and physicians—of which about thirty are permanent staff, under the joint supervision of CNRS, INSERM, and Université Paris Cité.
NABI's scientific objectives are to develop new therapies based on biological nano-objects (extracellular vesicles) or synthetic nano-objects (activatable metallic nanoparticles) for the delivery of personalized treatments for hard-to-treat diseases.
Studying nano-objects in biological fluids requires transdisciplinary approaches (physics, engineering, cell and molecular biology, immunology, etc.) extending all the way to clinical practice, as well as dedicated technical and analytical resources (super-resolution microscopy, nanosensors, microfluidics, etc.), combined with systematic multimodal and multiscale exploration supported by AI-driven analysis.
These innovative methodologies are developed within NABI and in partnership with the industrial integrator IVETh, a technology hub dedicated to the characterization, bioproduction, and engineering of extracellular vesicles and nanovectors for diagnostics and personalized therapies.
The engineer will integrate the Nanobiotherapy team, in the framework of the European network for rare diseases ERDERA.
