Work Context

The Centre d'économie de la Sorbonne (CES) is seeking to recruit a talented and motivated research assistant who will contribute to CES research on epidemiological-economic modelling and will participate in the ANR Ecovid-19 project.

ECOVID-19 aims to provide a comparative cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) of public policies conducted in real conditions during the Covid-19 epidemic in France. We will compare three main measures: (i) containment measures; (ii) tests with a particular focus on undocumented infections; (iii) reminders on so-called "barrier" actions. To do so, we will construct a theoretical model of disease diffusion and test the model using quasi-experimental variation during the epidemic to assess the respective importance of policies and the timing of their implementation.

This position will be jointly supervised by Raouf Boucekkine (Prof. AMSE), Jérôme Adda (Prof. Bocconi) and Josselin Thuilliez (Researcher CNRS-CES). It will be carried out at the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne (UMR 8174 of the University of Paris 1 and CNRS) with travel possibilities between Milan-Marseille-Paris. The Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne is a research unit in economics structured around 3 major research themes and brings together 93 researchers and lecturers, 14 emeritus professors, who supervise 112 PhD students.
