Job Description
Missions
Participate in the scientific work of the laboratory within a funded project. This collaborative project CNRS/Institut Pasteur aims at developing therapeutic antisens oligonucleotides with a large spectrum of action directed against a family of viruses of high interest. The person recruited will work at LBPA (ENS Paris-Saclay) and the Chem4Life laboratory (Institut Pasteur Paris). He/She will contribute to the design of ASOs using bioinformatics tools, perform molecular biology and biochemistry experiments on nucleic acids, and conduct in cellulo experiments under BSL-3 confinement.
Activity
- Design antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) targeting RNA viruses.
- Produce RNA via in vitro transcription.
- Test RNase H1-mediated cleavage in vitro.
- Conduct cytotoxicity assays under BSL-2 containment.
- Perform in cellulo antiviral assays under BSL-3 containment.
- Analyse and interpret results.
- Contribute to drafting technical procedures and scientific articles.
Your Profil
Skills
- Interest in multidisciplinary approaches.
- Good knowledge of nucleic acid structure and chemistry, and bioinformatics.
- RNA biology (in vitro transcription, RT-qPCR) and molecular biology.
- Virology and cell biology.
- Good command of English.
- Ability to work in a team.
Your Work Environment
The person recruited will carry out his work at the Laboratory of Biology and Applied Pharmacology (LBPA) and may also work at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. The LBPA is jointly supervised by the CNRS and the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay. The person recruited will interact with other members of the laboratory as well as members of the laboratory at the Institut Pasteur.
The position is based at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay in Gif-sur-Yvette.
