Missions

Participation in a research project using mixed methods (quantitative/qualitative) to study bargaining practices at company level from an intersectional feminist perspective.
Project NEGO-FEMI coordinated by Sophie Pochic (CNRS), funded by the DARES, as a REPONSE 2023 post-survey.
Integrated in a multidisciplinary team (sociology, economics, management sciences), the person will be project coordinator and involved in the quantitative analysis (Phase 1) and the qualitative analysis (Phase 2)

Activities

- Administrative coordination of the project
- Participation in the quantitative analysis (Phase 1), in order to select a sample of companies in REPONSE 2023 for the qualitative analysis (Phase 2), in partnership with the members of the team
- Responsibility of 2 company monographs (based on interviews with unions representatives and management team), between 20 and 30 interviews in total
- Documentary study of two companies (agreements signed in the target areas, company and trade union websites and social networks)
- Assisting the team in organising the fieldwork for the 6 other monographs
- Transcribing 30 interviews (using Whisper software)
- Drafting of a summary note for two monographs
- Participation in the drafting of the intermediate report
- Participation in the drafting of a communication and/or a draft article.

Skills

- Extensive experience of qualitative survey methodologies, and in particular of negotiating survey fieldwork in the world of work (companies or trade unions)
- Substantive knowledge in sociology of work, trade unionism and gender studies
- Strong experience of interview analysis methods
- Proficiency in interview transcription software (Whisper type)
- Desired experience of statistical exploitation of databases
- Ability to work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary scientific team (sociology, economics and management science)
- Ability to co-lead a research project
- Availability and responsiveness
- Autonomy and ability to take initiatives
- Good writing skills in French
- High ability to summarise and produce sociological texts.

Work Context

The post is located at the Centre Maurice Halbwachs, 48 boulevard Jourdan, 75014 Paris.
The person will be associated primarily to the GCR (Gender, Class, Race) axis, with the possibility of participating in the activities of the other axes.
One or two days' teleworking may be envisaged, but access to quantitative data will only be possible in person, at the CMH, via a CASD box.
Travel in France is to be expected in order to carry out qualitative surveys and to participate to scientific conferences linked to the project.
