The project "DRafting and Enacting the revolutions in the Arab Mediterranean (DREAM)" funded by the European Research Council (ERC) will start on 1 September 2018 at the Marc Bloch Centre. This 5-year research programme (2018-2023) focuses on revolutionary movements and popular revolts in the Arab Mediterranean world since the 1950s. It is a historical anthropology project that aims to study the genesis of the claim to dignity in contemporary revolutions. The project articulates a work on archives (their collection, deposit, recension and comprehension, in situ production) and a research on the springs of mobilizations and the political emotions through which they are expressed. The team, led by Leyla Dakhli, researcher at the CNRS, brings together a dozen researchers specializing in the region or revolutions.
The Researcher - PhD candidate allowed will have to register his/her research within the framework of the DREAM project. While conducting his/her own research activities, he/she should be available to carry out prospecting and survey missions in the countries concerned (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon) for a period ranging from a few days to a few weeks. He/she will join the DREAM project team and participate in group activities. In this context, he/she will be asked to help organize scientific events and coordinate research and publications.
