Job Description

Missions

The research activities may combine theoretical and algorithmic approaches, and will be carried out in the context of wireless networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), distributed learning, or edge computing infrastructures. Research topics may include, but are not limited to:
● optimization of communications, security, and computation in distributed and resource-constrained architectures;
● distributed hypothesis testing and statistical inference in 6G networks;
● source coding and distributed information compression, including authentication-related aspects;
● caching strategies and distributed data management, including security aspects.

Activity

Context :
The positions focus on the study of problems related to distributed information processing in communication networks and decentralized systems, with potential applications to edge computing. The postdoctoral researchers / research engineers will join the WP3 of the FOUNDS project.

Research program :
1. Conduct a literature review on the most recent methods.
2. Develop distributed solutions for communications, security, and computation.
3. In addition, energy efficiency and data privacy will also be taken into account through multi-objective optimization problems.

Requirements
For this position, applicants should meet the following requirements:
● PhD in Telecommunications or Networking.
● Excellent academic track record and strong mathematical skills.
● Excellent programming skills.
● Experience in optimization and machine learning.
● Excellent spoken and written English skills.

Your Work Environment

We are looking for postdoctoral researcher to join WP3 of the PEPR Future Networks project FOUNDS. The project focuses on fundamental theoretical advances for future networks, notably through the use of information theory, statistical signal processing, and machine learning. The successful candidates will work with Prof. Arsenia Chorti and Dr. Linda Senigagliesi and will be affiliated with the ICI team at the ETIS laboratory. ETIS is a joint laboratory between CY Cergy Paris Université, ENSEA, and the CNRS, and is a leading research unit in computer science and information engineering in France. ICI is an ETIS team specialized in signal processing, information theory, and telecommunications, and has established a world-class reputation in these fields.
