This post-doctoral contract is part of the CATCH project which explores Guyanese chemo-diversity using computer tools and mass spectrometry.

The specific objectives of the post-doc researcher will be to (i) collect the samples needed for the project, (ii) extract and analyze the metabolites of the different samples (iii) identify the extracted metabolites using the MetWork platform.


In practice, the researchers' tasks will be responsible for the practical part of developing one or more new approaches to describe Guyanese chemo diversity.
In addition, a first practical part will consist of participating in the sampling of the project.
A second practical part of the project will consist of extracting the samples and participating in the data acquisition on the mass spectrometry platform.
Finally, the use and improvement of the MetWork online tool will be a recurring task of the project.


The main selection criterion for this position is scientific excellence. However, the successful candidate must demonstrate :
- a Ph.D. with a strong background in ecology or natural substance chemistry.
- Thorough knowledge of MS/MS data processing.
- Experience in molecule identification
- Excellent English communication skills
- Good and rigorous laboratory practices
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in forest missions

Work Context

The research will take place mainly in the LEEISA laboratory (USR 3456 CNRS-UG-IFREMER) in Cayenne, French Guiana.
