Development of a time domain THz and MIR spectroscopy system and of a MIR pump-THz probe experiment. Using this system, the candidate will study the optical properties of 2D materials and the dynamics of hot carriers in these materials. Besides, the studies will be extended to Dirac and Weyl semi-metals.
- Broadband THz pulse generation

The ENS Physics Laboratory, LPENS, created on 1 January 2019, is the result of the merger between 4 laboratories from the ENS Physics Department:
•The Pierre Aigrain Laboratory (LPA)
•The Statistical Physics Laboratory (LPS)
•Theoretical Physics Laboratory (LPT)
•The RadioAstronomy Laboratory (LRA)
LPENS is located at 24 rue Lhomond, 75005 Paris
The host group is the NanoTHz group. The Terahertz (THz) group at LPA is specialized in ultra-fast THz spectroscopy for the investigation of semiconductor nanostructures.
This position will be part of the research activities led by Juliette Mangeney on carbon based materials for THz technology. It is funded by an ERC consolidator contract, coordinated by J. Mangeney, which starts on 02/09/2019.
