Missions
A postdoctoral position is available at the Laboratoire de Physique de l'École Normale Supérieure, to be filled in September/October 2026 (exact start date flexible). The appointment is for 2+1 years and comes with travel support.
The fundamental research activities in theoretical physics or mathematical physics carried out under this contract will be part of the research programme developed within Mr Denis Bernard's group at the Laboratoire de Physique de l'École Normale Supérieure.
Applications will be reviewed in late December/early January, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Activités
The recipient's activities will be conducted in parallel with those of the Simons Collaboration 'Probabilistic Paths to Quantum Field Theory,' which addresses theoretical questions at the interface between quantum field theory, probability theory, and noisy quantum dynamics.
Compétences
We welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, from theoretical physics to pure mathematics, with training in random geometry, stochastic partial differential equations, free probability or quantum dynamics.
Contexte de travail
The successful candidate will benefit from the activities of the Simons Collaboration 'Probabilistic Paths to Quantum Field Theory' and will join an extremely dynamic theoretical physics community at the École Normale Supérieure and in the Paris region.
