Job Description
Missions
Microbiological experiments and bioinformatics to study the dynamics of antibiotic resistance in bacterial communities. Participation in the operation and organization of the laboratory.
Activity
Analyze bacteriological measurement data (optical density, fluorescence, colony morphology, metagenomics, etc.)
Develop analytical techniques to assess the impact of antibiotics on bacterial communities
Select and adapt protocols to culture bacterial communities, measure growth rates, and also assess resistance, tolerance, and persistence in natural isolates involved in the experiments
Carry out bacteriological techniques, adapting experimental conditions, to study the colonization and persistence of antibiotic-resistant strains in different experimental communities
Contribute to training and knowledge exchange with students and other team members
Your Profil
Skills
- Training in experimental microbiology, with knowledge in data management and analysis; a background in microbial ecology is desired (but optional)
- Good level of English
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team
Your Work Environment
Experimental laboratory located at UMR1137 IAME (Bichat Campus) as part of a scientific collaboration
Constraints and risks
Biological risks associated with Biosafety Level 2 (BL2) microbiology experimental work.
