Job Description

Missions

This recruitment is part of the MEDUSAH project, funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) under the M-ERA.NET Call 2025. The consortium includes five European partners: SINTEF AS (NO), Planck Technologies AS (NO), Università della Calabria (IT), Universitat de Lleida(ES), and CNRS(FR). The successful candidate will focus on identifying the most promising MOFs for hydrogen storage, as well as their synthesis and characterization.

Activity

• Conducting literature reviews to identify suitable MOFs and their synthesis conditions;
• Synthesizing pre-selected MOFs using conventional methods (solvothermal, hydrothermal, or ambient-pressure synthesis);
• Performing structural and physicochemical characterization using techniques such as: Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Infrared (IR) spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Gas adsorption measurements, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and other relevant methods;
• Optimizing the synthesis of the most promising MOFs;
• Writing reports, including literature reviews, progress reports, and project deliverables;
• Participating in monthly meetings with the European consortium.

Your Profil

Skills

The candidate should have strong expertise in:
• MOF synthesis and relevant advanced characterization techniques for porous materials (incl. X-ray diffraction; Gas adsorption measurements).
Additional qualifications that would be considered an asset include:
• Experience in gas adsorption for storage/separation applications;
• Knowledge of high-throughput combinatorial synthesis.

Your Work Environment

The research will be carried out primarily at the IMAP UMR8004 under the supervision of Georges Mouchaham.
The selected researcher will be expected to travel within Europe once or twice per year to attend consortium meetings.
