Missions
The work is part of the ANR TOCYDYS (Towards Optical CYcle DYnamics in Solids) and consists of numerically modeling and simulating the dynamics of solids in the presence of intense laser field, with a temporal resolution on the scale of the optical cycle. This will involve participating in the development of codes and analytical models allowing the calculation of absorption and reflectivity spectra for aluminum oxides and silicon oxides.
Activités
The theoretical research activities will focus on:
- Numerical calculation of absorption and reflectivity spectra for wide bandap insulators
- Time dependence of the reflectivity in the case of ultra-short laser pulse
- development of models for the interpretation of experimental results
Compétences
Research experience in condensed matter theory, Density functional theory, nonlinear optics and numerical simulation. Programming skills are expected: fortran, MPI and/or OpenMP.
Contexte de travail
The theoretical activity will be carried out at the Laboratoire des Solides Irradiés , which is a CNRS/CEA/Ecole Polytechnique research unit, located at the Ecole Polytechnique, in collaboration with experimental groups at LOA and LIDYL within the framework of the ANR TOCYDYS.
