Job Description
Missions
We are looking for a Research Engineer with knowledge in the field of genome stability to join the team “Programmed DNA elimination” at Institut Jacques Monod (CNRS/Université Paris Cité, France – https://www.ijm.fr/research-topics/duharcourt-lab-va/?lang=en)
Current work in the lab aims at deciphering the mechanisms controlling repeated sequences in the genome. The proposed project notably aims to novel actors by performing a high-throughput RNAi screen, in Paramecium.
Activity
The project will combine genetics, imaging and molecular biology/biochemistry techniques in Paramecium.
The applicant is expected to contribute to the design of the project, develop the methodologies, perform the experiments, analyze and communicate the data, manage the collaborations and participate to the writing of scientific reports (publications).
Your Profil
Skills
The applicant must hold a PhD in life sciences and have demonstrable experience in molecular biology and biochemistry. Strong organizational and team working abilities, as well as verbal and written communication skills in English, will be required (French is not mandatory).
Your Work Environment
The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) is one of the main centers for basic research in biology in the Paris area, and gathers around 30 research groups working on genome biology, cellular dynamics or development. The Research Engineer will benefit from this highly dynamic scientific environment and from the leading-edge core facilities available within the IJM building (proteomics, imaging), located in the Université Paris Cité campus in the Paris left bank.
