Job Description
Missions
The engineer's role is to select, adapt, and implement biological techniques (biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, cell culture, transfection, immunolabeling, etc.) as part of the research team's scientific projects.
Activity
• Conduct, by adapting experimental conditions, a range of techniques such as electrophoresis, immunolabeling, cloning, microscopy, and drug testing on yeast as well as on human cells (cell culture, siRNA transfection, etc.).... • Perform project-specific techniques such as organoid culture, microfabrication, and live-cell imaging • Manage technical resources within the framework of the scientific project, • Collect, analyze, and present experimental results, ensuring their quality • Draft experimental or study reports and technical notes • Manage laboratory stocks (plasmids, oligonucleotides, cell lines), • Provide internal and external training on the principles and implementation of biological experimental techniques, and supervise users (students, interns), • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, • Monitor scientific and technological developments in their field of activity.
Your Profil
Skills
Theoretical and practical knowledge of common experiments in molecular biology (construction of expression vectors, DNA production, bacterial transformation, production of defective retroviral particles), cell biology (animal cell culture, organoid culture, transfections, immunolabeling, fluorescence microscopy), Biochemistry (protein extraction and analysis by SDS-PAGE and Western blot, immunoprecipitation, and GST pull-down).
Additional skills: interest in working in a multidisciplinary environment, openness to physics that facilitates communication with physicists, proficiency in English.
Your Work Environment
The position is open for recruitment within a team of about twenty people: mostly doctoral and postdoctoral students, both French and international, including biologists and physicists. The team's research, at the interface of biology and physics, focuses on the exchange of information between animal cells through physical contact and on the study of the mechanical aspects of this communication and the associated signal transduction.
