Job Description

Missions

The postdoctoral researcher will take part in a cell biology research project aimed at elucidating the mechanisms that coordinate cilia beating in multiciliated cells.

Activity

The position is open at the Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) within the 'Biogenesis and Polarity of Centrioles and Cilia' team led by Juliette Azimzadeh. The team investigates the mechanisms that control the assembly and polarisation of centrioles and cilia using cell biology approaches, in particular super-resolution microscopy. The aim of the postdoctoral project proposed within Juliette Azimzadeh's team is to elucidate the role of conserved centriole components involved in centriole polarisation, as identified by the team (Basquin et al., Dev. Cell 2019; Gaudin et al., eLife 2022; Boumendjel et al., BioRxiv 2026). This project will involve developing super-resolution microscopy and image analysis techniques to study the polarisation of multiciliated epithelia.

Your Profil

Skills

Potential candidates must hold a PhD and have a strong background in cell biology and imaging, particularly in super-resolution imaging, as well as in the analysis of microscopy images.
They must be capable of leading a research project independently. They must have an excellent level of English and very good skills in scientific presentation.

Your Work Environment

The IJM is a joint research unit of the CNRS and Université Paris Cité, comprising around thirty research groups. It is a leading research centre dedicated to fundamental research in biology, offering a multidisciplinary environment at the interface with physics, mathematics and medicine.
