We are looking for a motivated and productive post-doctoral fellow to join our team at the Institut Jacques Monod, Paris, France.
The team « Cell Adhesion and Mechanics » focuses on cell-cell contacts which, coupled to the contractile cytoskeleton, are major sites of force transmission in cells. In this context, we study the cooperation between adhesion, mechanical and biochemical signaling for the adaptation of living cells to changes in their physical environment at various scales.

The applicant should be a researcher holding a PhD degree in molecular and cell biology, with no or maximum 2 years of experience. The candidate should have solid experimental skills, notably expertise in living cell - high resolution imaging and biochemistry, as well as a strong interest in cytoskeleton biology. The candidate should be highly motivated, curious and enthusiastic to work in a multidisciplanary and collaborative team.
Our group is part if the Institut Jacques Monod (https://www.ijm.fr) which is housed in a new building located on the new campus of Paris. The Institut Jacques Monod is one of the main public centers for fundamental research in biology in the Paris area and exhibits a state-of-the art research environment. The institute offers a rich multidiscipliniary environment, as well as access to different experimental approaches through our lab and core facilities to ensure the successful development of the research.
Constraints and risks
The position is available from January 2021. Initial funding for 12 months is available. Candidates are expected to have a competitive track record to apply for external follow-up funding. Priority will be given to applications received before the December 11th.
