Job Description

Missions

The successful candidate will join the “Regulation of Cytoskeleton Dynamics” team at the Institut Jacques Monod, and will be working on the “filament disassembly” project.

Activity

- Conduct experiments to characterize actin filament network disassembly using approaches that combine microfluidics and fluorescence microscopy.
- Analyze the data produced
- Write scientific reports and articles to disseminate knowledge.

Your Profil

Skills

- Master's degree in biology or physics;
- General knowledge of protein biochemistry, and preferably cytoskeleton biochemistry;
- Proficiency in good experimental practices;
- Proficiency in written, spoken, and read English (B2 level required);
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology required;
- Rigorous, organized, and able to plan and manage experiments independently; analytical and scientific reasoning skills; dynamic, good interpersonal skills, and able to work well in a team.

Your Work Environment

The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) (https://www.ijm.fr/), a joint research unit of the CNRS and Paris Cité University, brings together around 300 people and is one of the leading centers for fundamental research in biology in the Paris region. The host team (www.actindynamics.net) is particularly interested in the dynamics of the cytoskeleton (actin and intermediate filaments). The IJM is located on the Paris Cité University campus in the Paris-Rive Gauche business district (13th arrondissement of Paris; accessible by all means of transport: Metro 14, RER C, Tramway T3, bus 62 and 89).
